These days have been very busy evidenced by my lack of posting.
Teaching has been bittersweet so far. I can see first hand how the educational system has failed so many children of color and it is the saddest thing. Children who are 7-8 yrs old who are in the second grade and don't know how to read. What the hell? It is disturbing beyond comprehension.
I'm tired and frustrated but then I have some of the sweetest kids who make it so worthwhile to push myself and not give up when things seem so daunting. I have to keep working and doing my part to erase the gap.
