Dear 2013

It's almost the end of 2013 and God was truly good to me. I have so much to be thankful for and I am excited and looking forward to what 2014 has to offer.

I am joining the Dear 2013 link up over at Sunshine to the Square Inch
Here is my letter to the year 2013.

Dear 2013,
As you come to a close, I can honestly say you sure were  good to me. There were some not so great moments but the great ones are way more memorable and I choose to focus on those.
You were a year of traveling and many firsts. I have so much to be thankful for and I feel so blessed.
These are just some of the highlights of our time together.
  •  trip to Paris with my mom.
  •  Camping in the mountains of Oman
  •  traveling to Istanbul and Thailand
  • turning 30
  •  getting my driver license
  •  buying my first car
You were also a year of personal growth for me and I know that this isn't the end. I am only getting better.
Thank you!

Saying Good-Bye to Thailand

Hey lovelies,
Sad times. My vacation is drawing to a close. Tonight is our final night in Bangkok and we head back to Abu Dhabi tomorrow.
We made it back from Krabi on a 12 hour bus ride and we're dead tired. We got to our hotel at 5:30 in the  morning and literally crashed in the lobby until our room was ready.

Seriously, let me talk about my vacation. I know I've been lax with posting but I was busy having fun. You know how it goes.
Guys, I loved every minute of this trip. It wasn't all perfect but I couldn't have been more pleased with the way things went considering how little planning I actually did. My Thailand bucket list is complete!

There were some things that didn't work out exactly as I would have liked but that's the way life goes right?
Things that I couldn't predict or control  popped up and threw our flow off a bit but we got through it unscathed for the most part.

One of those less than awesome events occurred when my travel buddy got a touch of food poisoning upon arrival in Krabi, our final leg of the journey. She ate some bad mango and was out of commission for most of our time here.
This meant that I had to go out exploring on my own. Not exactly ideal but what can you do? The show must go on.
Luckily I met some great folks who adopted me and didn't mind me hanging around with them. The first day I hung out with some students from Sweden and the following day while out at the beach I met a some folks from Germany who I hung out with for a couple days.
One of the cool things about traveling is getting to meet people from different countries and learning about different cultures. And if you're like me, you start adding more countries to the list of places to visit.
Although I missed having my pal around, the days weren't a complete bust and I managed to have a great time.

I have tons of photos to share with you, so hang tight for photo overload.
These shots were taken in Krabi. I still can't decide if Chiang Mai or Krabi was my favorite place. Each town had so much to offer and the experiences were so different but equally awesome. I suppose I can have two favorites.
Dom and I. Asian fingers!
My sweet new friends from Germany
Kata and I after a couple Chang beers. Happy Times.
Ao Nang Beach, Krabi

Elephant pants-love them!
Christmas on the beach. Dom brought a Christmas tree and built a sandman.
Being silly. Chicken Island, Krabi
Cause I am sexy!!!

I am so happy and blessed to have had this opportunity. Thailand is a great place to visit and if you ever get the chance I highly recommend that you get over there.

Khob kun ka (thank you in Thai) Thailand for a wonderful time!
See you again.

Greetings from Thailand

Hey lovelies,
As I write this I am sitting in the cutest little guesthouse in Chiang Mai after a long day exploring the market and Night Bazaar.
It has been a great day and I am completely smitten with this city.
We did some shopping...well a lot of shopping and saw the lady boys Cabaret show which was an experience.
We loved it!!!
At lunch we met a lovely couple from Australia who gave us tons of tips about getting around in the city and all the attractions. It's good to get info or we would have spent an arm and a leg on taxis.
We have so much to do here and I will write more once I have a real computer.
Posting from my phone ain't the best.
Drinking a Thai Tea from Bittersweet in Chiang Mai
Heading to the Lady boy show. It was so entertaining.
Fiercest Lady Boy in town.
Riding in a Tuk-tuk
So much good food. Paleo what?

Life Lately

Hey lovelies,
Hope you're having a great weekend. Only a few more hours till  I am on my way to Thailand. Yay!
I am packed and ready to go. My excitement is beyond control at this point.

Anyway, I have a bunch of random stuff to share since I've been a bit quiet around here.

+ Rode in a Bentley for the first time a couple weeks ago. Check out the evidence below. I was invited to the lunch party for a company called Uber and as part of the experience was chauffeured to and from the event. It was completely unexpected and sort of random but amazingly awesome.

+ Went on a desert safari and had a blast. If you ever get the chance to go out in the desert you have to jump on it. It is spectacular. The sand dunes are just so incredible and awe inspiring.

+ Spent time with my lovely friends  before we all broke up for vacation. We had some yummy very non-Paleo food but it was well worth it.

yummy pancakes with rhubarb and strawberry compote. Fancy!!

Weekly Wishes #10

Hey folks, another week of wishes. The theme this week is "colorful". The picture is of my favorite flower. I took this while I was at the Farmer's Market in Union Square when I went home this summer. I love New York!!!

Last Week
1. Speak positively. Lately I've been super negative in my speech. Life and death are in the power of the tongue. The things we speak over our lives often come to pass. This week I will speak only those things that I want to bear fruit in my life.
I made some progress with this. I am not speaking negatively, so that's a start. I just need to speak good things in my life now.

2. Stick to my weekly menu plan.!

3. Do laundry. Oof, it's starting to pile up.
I did the laundry, yay!!! Now I just need to move the huge piles from the couch to the drawers. Baby steps folks, baby steps.

4. Reach out to a friend I haven't spoken to in a while.
Sort of did this. There is one person I have in mind and I still want to reach out to her. I just need to do it.

This Week

1. Pack for Thailand.

2. Email my friend. Haven't spoken to her in ages.

3. Clean my apartment.
