Happy New Year. Planning for 2014
Happy New Year!!!
I hope that your year will be filled with more ups than downs, more laughter than tears and lots of opportunities for growth and success.
Every year I set some goals for myself. It's a good way for me to keep focused and to feel a sense of accomplishment at the end of the year.
My goals aren't all lofty, sometimes it means looking at my bucket list and crossing a few things off. That's enough for me to know that I am living the life I want.
2013 was such an amazing year. I checked 3 countries off my list of places to travel to and a bunch of other amazing experiences such as riding an elephant, petting a tiger and getting on a motorbike. None of which were as scary as I had imagined.
For 2014, I have three major goals I plan to work on accomplishing.
1. Living a 95% Paleo lifestyle. This is something that I am really excited about continuing. I discovered Paleo towards the end of last year and it was such a blessing. I lost 15-20 pounds in a little over two months and I felt much healthier.
Looking forward to another 20lb weight loss in 2014.
2. Travel solo. This scares me a little but it's something I really want to do. The thought of going to a foreign country on my own and having to put myself out there to make friends made me nervous as heck in the past however I got a little taste of solo traveling when my friend got sick in Thailand. It was either sit in the room and watch her barf all day or go see the city. I chose the latter and ended up meeting some really cool people. I feel more confident about heading somewhere alone. Already thinking of a few places for a quick stop maybe in the summer.
3. Having a more positive attitude and spirit. This one will be ongoing. I found myself speaking negatively a lot last year and it seriously affected my attitude and my confidence. I also found myself being really critical of others. It's a mean and awful cycle that I need to discontinue.
It won't be the easiest goal to achieve but baby steps are ok. Little words of encouragement to myself, daily bible reading and praying, daily affirmations and showing love to others will help me accomplish it.
