Product Review- Aztec Secret Indian Healing Clay

Hi lovelies, I know it's been awhile but I'm still around.
I've been trying to enjoy my vacation as much as possible and see as many of my awesome friends as I can. This has made it a bit challenging to actually sit and compose a proper blog post.
However, I just wanted to do a quick little product review for you.

I'm always on a mission to achieve healthy beautiful skin by using only natural products.
One of the products I came across while perusing the blogosphere was Aztec Indian Healing Clay. It is made from 100% Calcium Bentonite clay which is a powerful and effective imgredient for ridding the skin of impurities which eventually leads to a healthy and glowing complexion. Sign me up please!

It is such a simple process to add to your skin care routine. The clay should be mixed with Apple Cider Vinegar with a 1:1 ratio. I've read reviews of people reacting strongly to the acidity of th vinegar and have substituted it for water. I didn't have a reaction.  Mix it into a paste and apply to skin. You can use it on your face, on your neck, any area where you suffer from acne or have insect bites.

Leave it on for up to 10 minutes if you have sensitive skin or 20 if you have normal skin.

While the mask is on, you will feel it tingling and pulling a little. That means it's drawing the impurities from your skin. Halleluyer!

This is what it looks like when first applied.

After 20 minutes with it on. It's now dry and ready to be removed.

Lol, my bestie and I being silly.

I used a wash cloth to help remove the dried clay. It took all of five minutes to get it off.
My skin felt amazing and all those little yuckies in the pores on my nose seemed to have disappeared. Nothing seems to work on those suckers.

It didn't dry out my skin or irritate it.
I plan on incorporating this into my weekly beauty regimen.
It's available on Amazon.com, Iherb.com and a bunch of other health websites.

Well I hope you give this a try. I think it's pretty awesome!

Wednesday Word of Wisdom

We all have things that we are waiting for, whether it is a new job, a spouse, children or a sense of purpose. It is easy to become frustrated and wonder when our time will come, but we must be patient and wait for God to work in his time.
Pray for the peace of mind while you wait so that worry and frustration don't derail you from the blessings that God has in store.

Have a wonderful week!

Weekly Wishes #29

Hey lovelies, as you read this I'll probably be in transit to NY. Super happy to be going home of course.

Last Week's Goals
  • Vacuum the entire house
  • Wash and put away laundry
  • Dust
  • Wash the bathrooms
  • Pack

I am happy to say all things on my list were completed. I really didn't want to come back to a messy house so I made sure to get it nice and clean before leaving.

Although I'll be on vacation, there are things I need to get done. Check out my list of goals for the week.

  • Sleep. This is crucial after my bajillion hours of travel. This is my numero uno priority.
  • Sort through my clothes and figure out what to keep, sell and give away.
  • List all the shoes I want to sell on Ebay or Poshmark. Look out for a link to shop if you're interested in purchasing so gently worn beauties (8-8.5).
  • Sort through all the mail I've accumulated in the past year.
  • Call the county office and have them take me off their jury duty list.
I think this list should keep me super busy for the week. Hopefully I'll have the energy to get it all done.

Product Review- Kiehl's Superbly Efficient Antiperspirant and Deodorant Cream

Hey lovelies, I am super excited to share this product with you guys. I've never done a product review before but this stuff is just that good that it would be a real disservice if I kept it to myself.

With the onset of summer here in Abu Dhabi, I realized that the more commercial brands of antiperspirants and deodorants just weren't giving me the level of freshness I needed. Yeah, no. That wasn't going to work for me.

Obviously deciding to switch things up in the middle of desert weather wasn't an easy or simple undertaking. I needed lots of different options and trial testing and that sort of stuff. Only problem was, I didn't have any other options available to me here. I had no clue where to look.

Serendipitously I came across the Kiehl's store while at the Dubai Mall and went in to check it out. While browsing all the goodies on display I found the Superbly Efficient Antiperspirant and Deoderant Cream. Yes please! Until I saw the price. Womp womp. Hashtag sad face.
The price tag was kinda hefty for some under arm cream and even though the sales guy tried to convince of its awesomeness, I wasn't sold. It was almost twenty five bucks for the small tube. So I left the store without it.
But after mulling it over for a bit, I decided to go back and get it. I've definitely spent far more money on crap so if this didn't work I'd just add it to the list of previous casualties. Happy I decided not to be cheap that day.

It's been nearly a week of using it and I am really impressed. Granted I haven't tested it out to see how it holds up for a gym session but it's done a superb job getting me through the hot days
I don't smell orange or lemon but that's not a bad thing. The scent is very delicate and mild.

It has a cream like consistency and you can apply it directly from the tube to your pits. It's not messy and you can control how much you use.
It does take some time to fully absorb but I haven't noticed any residue on my clothing. I totally hate those white deodorant streaks on my shirts.

Definitely go get this superbly awesome product. It works. I did a 5 minute trek from my house to Starucks (felt more like 20) in the blazing sun and and humidity and still smelled fresh and clean. Winning!
I'm not being paid or compensated in any way to write this review. I'm doing it just cause I really do love this stuff and all my coworkers can attest to my adoration for the cream because I announce it to them every day after completing several smell checks through out the day, for research purposes of course.

Weekly Wishes #28

Hey lovelies,
Happy July! I am a little late since we're already a week in but hey, better late than never.
So as I type this post I am practically jumping out of my skin because I'll be back in NY in exactly one week from today. All I have to do is get through the next 3 days of work and I'll be super happy.
Not much going on at work, we sit around and talk or watch movies. Yeah, it's been really rough having to go in for that.

Can I just complain for a minute?
The weather here is off the chain hot. Like next door to hell hot. Throw in the fact that it's Ramadan which means no eating or drinking in public and well you can imagine that it's not ideal. Sometimes I get so thirsty y'all. Hahaha, what's weird is that it seems my thirst has intensified since Ramadan began. It's especially awful when I'm driving home from work. Suddenly it feels like the desert is in my mouth. It's rough out here for a sister.

Ok, enough of that. Let's get into my goals for this week.
They are plentiful. I have a laundry list of chores that need to be done before I head out. Definitely don't want to come back to a junkyard in August.

This Week's Goals

  • Vacuum the entire house
  • Wash and put away laundry
  • Dust
  • Wash the bathrooms
  • Pack

Aright folks, I wish you much success with your goals this week. Send some words of encouragement that I maintain my sanity this week. The craving for home is something fierce.
Join the party over at The Nectar Collective.

Wednesday Word of Wisdom

No matter where we are in our lives, God loves us.
There is no condemnation in his love, no limitations and no prerequisites.
Don't be afraid to lay yourself bare before him.
